Introducing Assetz Capital to Scotland

On Wednesday 26th April, Assetz Capital’s Scottish Relationship Directors John Hewitt and Jon Durie hosted an Introducer Event at Murrayfied, Edinburgh on SME’s, Development and Renewable Energy.

Attendees travelled from as far as Belfast and Inverness to enjoy breakfast, networking and a series of short seminars. Assetz Capital CEO Stuart Law and CCO Rob Pailin provided useful insight into the workings of the business in Scotland as well as some strategic and developmental plans.

Guest speaker Derek Nash, head of Commercial Property at Lindsays, highlighted the importance of preparation and what a lender’s lawyer needs when completing a deal in his enthusiastic and humorous manner.

Howard Ounsley, the second guest speaker who is Director of Valuation at Colliers International; highlighted the current trends in Scottish Property, the effect of Brexit on the economy and championed the case for optimism in the future from a financial perspective.

It has been an exciting time for the Assetz Capital team in Scotland recently having completed a multitude of deals, particularly involving Green Energy. Peer-to-peer is thriving in Scotland and the Breakfast Briefing was an excellent snapshot of that, with the various hosting rooms bustling from as early as 8.10am right through until Midday.

John Hewitt said: “Today has been a brilliant success, we’ve had fantastic feedback and having Stuart and Rob speaking is such a bonus. It shows the commitment Assetz Capital have got for Scotland.’

CCO Rob Pailin said: “Scotland is a really important part of the business. It is now a proven model and we continue to see increasing deal flow. Introducers are the lifeblood of our business, it is really important that we establish and maintain these relationships.”
